• If you are in danger of losing your home or you are behind on your payments, you may contact the HOPE Program for help at 1-888-995-4673.
• The City of Dallas is introducing a "New Throne for Your Home" program to help Dallas Water Utilities customers conserve water and save money. The program offers vouchers, up to $90, to help homeowners and apartment managers and owners purchase water-saving low-flow toilets. Customers could get up to two toilet vouchers if they live in a single-family home. For complete guidelines about the program, visit www.savedallaswater.com or call (214) 670-3155.
• LITE -UP TEXAS: Low- Income Telephone & Electric Utility Program: If you need help with your electric bill you may be eligible to receive a discount on your eletric bill as part of the State of Texas Low Income Electric Discount Program because of your enrollment in a qualified Health and Human Services Commission(HHSC) program(Food Stamps and/or Medicaid) in addition to living in an area that allows you to choose your electric company. The electric discount program provides a discount on your electric bill during the months of May 2008 through September 2008. To see if you qualify or if you already participate in this program, you may call 1-866-454-8387.
• Dallas County Health and Human Services provides a wide range of assistance to income eligible residents who reside in Dallas County. For more information on the Dallas County Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) you may call (214) 819-1848. The program is designed to assist in managing utility costs.
• Dallas County offers the NACo Prescription Discount Card Program. For more information on this program and card distribution sites you may call (214) 653-7431.
