Youth Ministry Mission Statement

Mission:
To assist in the spiritual growth and development of the youth of the church and equip them to be successful in all aspects of their lives. (Proverbs 22:6, Luke 2:52)

Vision:
That all youth come into a faithful, committed personal relationship with God and conform to the image of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 3:10)

Goals:

1. To increase the youths' knowledge of God's Word.

2. To share the Gospel with those who are lost.

3. To strengthen the bond between parents and their children.

4. To provide opportunities to serve and minister to those in need.

5. To equip the youth with life management skills that prepare them for adulthood.

Objectives:

1. To increase the youths' knowledge of God's Word.
a. Promote and provide opportunities to for youth to learn and experience the Word of God, incorporating both innovative and traditional techniques.
b. Perform assessments to determine level of retention
c. Encourage participation in the Bible classes of the Church.
d. Encourage participation in Youth for Christ and other workshops, conferences, and events that are designed to spiritually enrich youth.

2. To share the Gospel with those who are lost.
a. Equip the youth with the tools and knowledge needed to share the gospel with others.
b. Provide opportunities for the youth to invite their friends to activities that expose them to the gospel and the church.
c. Coordinate prospects with the evangelism ministry.

3. To strengthen the bond between parents and their children. a. Stimulate parent/child interaction & communication through joint activities.
b. Solicit parental involvement in the planning and implementation of youth ministry activities.
c. Provide opportunities for parents and children to exchange views and information about life issues.
d. Provide parents with resources that address the various challenges and life experiences of teenagers.

4. To provide opportunities to serve and minister to those in need. a. Conduct community service projects throughout the year.
b. Train the youth on how to minister to others.

5. To equip the youth with life management skills that prepare them for adulthood. a. Provide and promote sessions and information that address life issues, including, but not limited to money management, career options, and conflict resolution.
b. Provide and promote activities that cultivate healthy Christian friendships/relationships.
